Analysis of the current situation of the use and disposal of boron sludge in China and the progress of research on its use
Boron sludge,categorized as a general industrial solid waste enriched with the element boron,primarily arises during the production of borax and boric acid from boron mines.The management and disposal of this waste have long posed a significant challenge in environmental protection.Conventional methods,such as landfilling or stockpiling,may give rise to groundwater,soil,and air pollution,thereby posing a potential risk to the ecological environment.Consequently,the comprehensive utilization and disposal of boron sludge hold immense significance.The purpose of this study is to review the current status of comprehensive utilisation and disposal of boron sludge and the research progress of landfill technology and mine ecological remediation technology for general industrial solid waste.At the same time,combined with the experience of general industrial solid waste disposal,it provides a reference for the resourceful utilisation of boron sludge and the environmental management of general industrial solid waste.
