Assessment of health status of Chongqing section Fujiang River based on fish integrity index
In order to construct index of biotic integrity evaluation system(F-IBI)via fish as indicator species to explore health status of Chongqing section Fujiang River, fish stocks were surveyed in 4 sampling sites in the Chongqing section of Fujiang River, using a combination of three-layer gill nets(pelagic fish)and trap cages(demersal fish)methods,in May(Spawning period)and October(bait period)of 2023.A total of 67 fish species were collected in 4 sites in Yuxi(S1),Luweiba(S2),Anju(S3)and Weituo(S4)in Chongqing section of Fujiang River, belonging to 5 orders,10 families, and 53 generas.Saurogobio dabryi was the most dominant species,Hemiculter tchangi,Pelteobagrus nitidus,Hemiculter leucisculus,Mystus macropterus and Carassius auratus were dominant species,Culter dabryi,Siniperca chuatsi and Xenocypris davidi were major dominant species. There were higher fish species,Margalef richness index,Shannon-Wiener diver-sity index and Pielou evenness index in the lower section of the Fujiang River than those in the middle and upper sections.Seven metrics selected from five categories were used to construct the F-IBI system, the results indicated that the surveyed water bodies were in a"healthy to sub-healthy"state,the overall state of the aquatic ecosystem is good.
