The effect of microfire acupuncture combined with Chinese medicinesealing on lumbar function and ser-um inflammatory index in patients with lumbar disc herniation
Objective To explore the effect of the acupuncture on lumbar function and serum inflammation in patients with lumbar disc herniation(LDH).Methods 152 LDH patients admitted to Luoyang Bone-setting Hospital in Henan Province from May 2022 to January 2024 were randomly divided into combined group and TCM sealing group,including 76 cases each.Efficacy,TCM syndrome score,lumbar function[Oswestry dysfunction index(ODI)scale,lumbar spine dysfunction questionnaire(RDQ)and Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA)low back pain assessment questionnaire],serum inflammatory index[C reactive protein(CRP)and interleukin 1 β(IL-1 β)and interleukin-6(IL-6)]and tolerability.Results The total efficacy of the combined group was higher than that of the TCM group(P<0.05).After the intervention,the score of lumbar spinal pain,pitching and the combined group were lower than that of the combined group(P<0.05).After intervention,the ODI and RDQ scores of the combined group were lower than the TCM group(P<0.05),and the JOA scores was higher than the TCM group(P<0.05).After the intervention,the serum levels of CRP,IL-1 β and IL-6 in the combined group were lower than in the TCM sealing group(P<0.05).Neither group showed obvious symptoms of discomfort and were well tolerated.Conclusions LDH combined with Chinese medicine can effectively improve lumbar function and serum inflammation.
