Research on Operation Scenarios of Hydrogen-powered Aviation
Hydrogen energy is an important path to achieve low-carbon operation in the aviation industry, and the design of hydrogen-powered aircraft and the system level application had become research focuses. The innovative operation scenarios of the civil aviation transportation system to ensure the operation of hydrogen-powered aircraft were analyzed.Focusing on the hydrogen supply chain and terminal use guarantee, requirements are proposed for airport infrastructure construction and operation under different expected goals.Under system level scenarios, aircraft operation scenarios were further investigated. The innovative scenarios, triggered by the use of hydrogen fuel as a substitute for aviation kerosene, were identified in various operational stages, with the analysis on the impact on aircraft design. Finally, based on the identified innovative operational scenarios of the aircraft, taking the design of hydrogen powered regional aircraft as an example, the partial top-level development requirements that the aircraft should meet when using hydrogen fuel are preliminary defined. The operational requirements and basic support for hydrogen-powered aviation from the supply chain to the end use have been preliminarily captured, providing input for the design of hydrogen-powered aircraft and hydrogen airport.
