Radar cross section(RCS)values provide necessary characteristic parameter information for target iden-tification,detection,and tracking. However, the high cost of field test and the limitation caused by uncooperative enemy targets make large sample target RCS data become difficult to obtain.Using electromagnetic simulation cal-culations to obtain RCS data has become an economical and effective approach. In this paper, the high-frequency progressive algorithm used by the electromagnetic simulation software EMASPro and the maximum simulation size of the software are analyzed firstly. Then, the EMASPro simulation results of three common calibration bodies are compared with matching theoretical calculating values. Finally, the modeling and simulation analysis of a more complex target are performed. The results show that the software has high reliability and effectiveness. It is of high value for the construction of target characteristic databases.
