The Neutrino Instance Reconstruction Method Based on the Plastic Scintillator Array
The antineutrino detection technology provides a new and effective approach for reactor monitoring. The reconstruction method for neutrino instances with array structure detectors is studied for nuclear reactor monitoring. The detector behavior was simulated using the Geant4 simulation toolkit, including the energy range of prompt signals and delayed signals, along with the time window of the delayed coincidence. The conventional delayed coincidence technique is adopted to keep 97%of antineutrino events, which is ineffective for neutron background rejection.Consequently,a multivariate analysis technique was illustrated, which can reject 84%of the time-correlated fast neutron background events and 72.4%of the random coincidence γ background events while keeping 78.6%of antineutrino events. The effectiveness of the multivariate analysis technique to suppress the cosmic background of the antineutrino detector is demonstrated.
