Research on the Problem of Control Rod Jamming Caused by Wear and Subsidence of the Thermal Sleeves of the Head of the Pressure Vessel in the Nuclear Power Plant
The thermal sleeve is regarded as one of the components of the control rod drive mechanism in China. It is hung at the bottom of the sealing shell of the drive mechanism and adopts a non-fixed installation structure. The European and American nuclear industries generally regard the thermal sleeves as one of the internal components of the pressure vessel head.Thermal sleeves guide the control rod drive rod and protect the head penetration.Under the impact of the flow of coolant, thermal sleeves will vibrate and wear against the bottom of the sealed shell, causing the thermal sleeves to sink or even break, which may cause the control rod to become jammed.Such problems have high feedback value for China's M310 and its improved units. This paper will analyze the research status, causes and maintenance strategy of the control rod sticking problem caused by the wear and subsidence of the thermal sleeves of the pressure vessel head of the nuclear power plant in China and abroad, and put forward reasonable suggestions.
