The biological functions of resveratrol and its applications in animal husbandry
Resvratrol is a phenolic phytoalexin present inplants, has antioxidantand anti-inflammatory,antimicrobial,anti-aging properties, and beneficial impacts on glucose and lipid metabolism. With the promotion of green and healthy animal husbandry concepts, resveratrol has drawn significant attention due to its diverse biological benefits for livestock and poultry production, including reducing animal stress, improving meat quality, and enhancing semen and embryo quality. This paper reviewed the biological activity and mechanism of resveratrol, and summarized the current research progress of resveratrol in animal husbandry, including its role in animal feed, frozen sperm and in vitro embryo production and its development prospects, aiming to provide new technologies and new methods for improving the efficiency of animal feeding and reproduction.
