The application of artificial insemination technology has promoted the progress of modern animal husbandry,and semen preservation technology is one of the key factors affecting the promotion of artificial insemination technology.Semen preservation technology is conducive to bringing into play the advantages of breeding stock,expanding the fertility of breeding donkeys,and lowering the breeding costs of farmers.This paper reviewed the basic steps for storing donkey semen,factors affecting the in vitro cryopreservation of donkey semen,the composition of semen cryoprotective buffering agents,and indicators for evaluating sperm quality to provide a reference for the in-depth study of donkey semen cryopreservation in the future.
