Post-internship is an essential practical teaching link for students majoring in animal husbandry and/or veterinary medicine majors of higher vocational colleges, which holds great significance in promoting high-quality employment for students. This paper explored the internship and employment situation of 773 fresh graduates specializing in animal husbandry and/or veterinary medicine majors through three approaches:Questionnaire Star,face-to-face communication, and telephone interviews. The results suggested that during the internship period,94.31%of the students would become regular employees;however, only 46.84%of the students chose to keep their current jobs after the internship, and 52.53%of the students went for re-employments,with the consideration of personal career planning, enterprise salary and welfare, and commute cost. The post-internship proved to be a way of enhancing students'comprehensive qualities, including professional skills, resilience, and career adaptability,as well as their understanding of jobs and expectations of career development. The students suggested that college administration departments introduce more high-quality enterprises, and teachers further develop their awareness of internship management and employment services to help students establish a correct job seeking mentality.Based on the survey results, this article proposes that post-internship management could be improved through five measures implemented by schools, four setups taken by enterprises, and three efforts made by students and an important guarantee to improve the"slow employment"of students majoring in animal husbandry and veterinary medicine for a high-quality employment.
