Study on the Spatial Effect of Cross-border E-commerce Clustering on Regional Economic Development
Panel data of 45 prefecture-level cities in the Yangtze River Delta,Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei,and Pearl River Delta regions are selected from 2016-2021,and a spatial Durbin model is constructed to conduct an empirical study on the influence effects between cross-border e-commerce agglomeration and regional economic development. The results of the study found that cross-border e-commerce agglomeration has a positive effect on regional economic development;in addition, the level of foreign trade, the level of informatisation, the level of logistics services, human capital, and governmental support are all common factors contributing to influencing the economic development of the Yangtze River Delta,Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei,and the Pearl River Delta regions.Efforts should be made to face up to the phenomenon of unbalanced regional development, strengthen inter-regional synergy and cooperation, improve the e-commerce supporting service system, build a cross-border e-commerce innovation ecosystem, and promote the high-quality development of the regional economy.
