The Impact of Import Trade Promotion Innovation Demonstration Zone Construction on the Optimisation and Upgrading of China's Industrial Structure—An Empirical Study Based on the Double Difference Model
Based on the panel data of 282 cities from 2009 to 2021,the article empirically examines the impact of the construction of national import trade promotion innovation demonstration zones on the optimisation and upgrading of industrial structure and its mechanism of action by using the double-difference method.The results of the study show that the construction of the demonstration zone significantly promotes the overall upgrading of industrial structure.Specifically,the construction of the demonstration zone promotes the overall upgrading of industrial structure through the mechanisms of financial development effect,talent gathering effect and innovation driving effect.In addition,there is heterogeneity in the impact of the construction of demonstration zones on the industrial structure of different regions.The article puts forward countermeasures from expanding the scope of pilot projects,differentiated construction and the combination of"demonstration zone construction+talent cultivation",in order to further increase the efforts of industrial structure upgrading and achieve more accurate industrial optimisation and upgrading.
