A Study on Trade Costs and Influencing Factors Among RCEP Member Countries
The establishment of RCEP is significant for both regional countries and global trade.Trade costs are a key factor affecting the trade development of RCEP countries.This thesis selects RCEP countries as the research object considering.This thesis empirical data from the statistical bureaus of RCEP countries and the United Nations trade database from 2010 to 2021.It constructs a fixed-effects regression model to deeply study the influencing factors of trade costs and conducts robustness tests.The results show that overall trade costs between RCEP member countries showed a downward trend from 2010 to 2021.Factors such as economic trade distance level differences,trade openness and whether,there is a common language have significant effects on trade costs.Therefore measures to reduce trade costs such as promoting regional integration,strengthening economic development and trade openness,enhancing cooperation and communication and optimizing border trade environments are of significant reference value.
