Shantou's Strategy of Enhancing the Development Level of Provincial Sub-central City by Opening-up to a Higher Level
Urban functional level and core competitiveness are the important basis for a city's influence and radiation power.A city's development should take the road of openness and sharing,win-win cooperation,collaborative innovation and industrial integration.Upgrading the urban functional level of Shantou city is the key link to promote the construction of it.As a provincial sub-central city,Shantou has been given with the historical mission of building a modern coastal economic belt.This article analyzes the driving factors of opening to the outside world and the connotation of urban functional level development,as well as the spatial aggregation and functional distribution of the urban function level in Guangdong Province and points out that Shantou should vigorously improve its economy and strengthen its innovation drive to help its opening up,with the purpose to create a new bureau in the crisis and change.
