Digital Economy Empowers the Development of New Quality Productivity:A Case Study of the Urban Agglomeration of the Yangtze River Economic Belt
In the context of a new technological revolution,the digital economy has emerged as a significant engine for the development of new qualitative productive forces.Selecting 108 prefecture-level cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2011 to 2021 as the research subjects,this study constructs a measurement system for the digital economy and new qualitative productive forces,and explores the mechanisms and effects of the digital economy on new qualitative productive forces.The findings reveal that the digital economy significantly promotes the development of new qualitative productive forces in the Yangtze River Economic Belt,with the optimization of factor allocation and digital technology innovation playing a mediating role.There is also a significant spatial spillover effect of the digital economy on the development of new qualitative productive forces.Based on these findings,the study proposes policy recommendations such as accelerating the construction of digital infrastructure,promoting the optimization of factor allocation and digital technology innovation,and strengthening regional cooperation and coordination.
