Effect of different soil pH on growth and photosynthetic parameters of sugar beet seedlings
Sugar beet H004 strain was used as the test material, and 9 different pH levels(pH=5.0,6.0,7.0,7.5,8.0,9.0,9.5,10.0,11.0)were set to explore the optimum pH conditions for the growth of suger beet. The results show that the height, fresh weight, leaf area, chlorophyll content, net photosynthetic rate(Pn),transpiration rate(Tr),stomatal conductance(Gs)and intercellular carbon dioxide concentration(Ci)of sugar beet seedlings decrease in acidic environment, and increase in alkaline environment(pH=7.5~9.5).With the increase of soil pH,all indexes show a trend of first increasing and then decreasing, reaching the maximum values when pH=9.5.In conclusion, sugar beet grows well in alkaline environment, and pH=9.5 is the most suitable condition for the growth and development of sugar beet H004 strain, and moderate alkaline salt treatment can promote the growth of sugar beet.
