The Changing Landscape of Online Education Report,presented by Quality Matters(QM),a well-known online edu-cation quality assurance agency in United States,and EduVentures Research,a higher education research and consulting company,in-vestigates the current situation,impact and development trends of online education in different levels of higher education institutions from the perspective of United States higher education management.The data of the report is derived from the chief online officers(COO)of each sample of universities,and their perspectives can provide an intuitive understanding of the development and trends of online education in United States.Based on the Changing Landscape of Online Education Report 8(CHLOE 8)released in 2023,this paper analyzes the landscape and trends of online education in the United States in recent years.This provides valuable insights into the major trends and key challenges in global higher online education and inspirations for the innovations and transformations of higher on-line education in China.
