From Separation to Integration:Foreign Experience on Interdisciplinary Education and Its Localization
At present,Chinese universities often build a special system when they organize and implement interdisciplinary educa-tion,and the goal,model and mechanism are separated from the whole education system.In contrast,world-class universities repre-sented by Stanford University pay attention to the integration of interdisciplinary education into the entire education system of colleges and universities,which is reflected taking interdisciplinary literacy as a requirement for all students in the goal,highly relying on the existing disciplinary professional education forms in the model,and fully relying on the existing disciplinary professional education or-ganizations in the mechanism.In order to promote the practice of interdisciplinary education from separation to integration,our colleges and universities need to make comprehensive efforts in three aspects:objective reshaping,model optimization and mechanism empowe-ring,that is,cultivating all students'interdisciplinary literacy,establishing open operational ideas,and fully exploiting the potential of the existing system.
