Empirical study on the relationship between energy consumption and economic growth
Energy is a strategic factor that affects economic growth, deeply influencing the increase in economic aggregates and the rate of economic growth. This paper uses relevant data from Guizhou province from 1978 to 2021 as a sample, conducting unit root tests, cointegration tests, and Granger causality tests,as well as employing other methods for empirical research on the sample data. The results indicate that the economic growth of Guizhou province is the Granger cause of the increase in energy consumption in Guizhou province, and there is a cointegration relationship between the two.The error correction model(ECM)explains the short-term fluctuation relationship of the series. Finally, based on the research findings, combined with the actual situation of Guizhou province, relevant strategies and suggestions for Guizhou province's energy development are proposed.
