Diagnostic analysis of a heavy fog event in Harbin
To investigate the formation process of dense fog, this study utilized single-station detection data from vertical observation systems(including wind profile radar and microwave radiometers),in conjunction with a dense fog event in Harbin City. The analysis focused on the changes in horizontal wind vectors,signal-to-noise ratios, and atmospheric refractive index structure constants from the Harbin wind profile radar during the dense fog period. The results indicate that the meteorological data detected by the vertical observation system during the dense fog event effectively reflect the evolution of various meteorological elements throughout the process. These findings are expected to provide valuable references for future dense fog weather warnings.
