Study on the carbon emission reduction potential of college students'schedule adjustment——taking Nanjing Agricultural University as an example
In order to assist the smooth promotion of China's"dual-carbon"goals,this paper combines offline experiments with online questionnaires to explore the carbon reduction potential of college students at Nanjing Agricultural University through the adjustment of their work and rest schedules. The survey results indicate that if college students adhere to the experimental schedule of going to bed at 11:00 p.m.,they can reduce the use of lighting and electronic devices by approximately one hour.According to the"carbon emission calculation method and electricity conversion formula,"1 kilowatt-hour(kWh)of electricity equals 0.997 kilograms of carbon dioxide, meaning that per capita daily carbon emissions can be reduced by about 0.01 kg.If this measure is promoted across all universities nationwide,it could effectively reduce the total annual carbon emissions by 12.53 million kg.Additionally, this initiative can significantly raise college students'awareness of carbon reduction, which has positive implications for constructing a low-carbon campus and society.
