Monitoring and analysis of ionizing radiation in pet hospitals
To understand the radiation dose level outside the rooms of veterinary X-ray devices, this study conducted on-site radiation dose monitoring of the external environment of X-ray device rooms used by 32 pet hospitals in Xi'an which hold radiation safety permits. The monitoring results met the requirements of"Radiation Protection Requirements for Radiodiagnosis"(GBZ 130-2020).Among these pet hospitals,23 used certain shielding materials for the machine rooms, and their monitoring results met the standard's requirement that"the ambient dose equivalent rate should not exceed 25 μSv/h."The other 9 pet hospitals did not use shielding materials in their machine rooms, but due to the infrequent use of X-ray devices, the calculated annual effective dose met the standard's requirement that"the annual effective dose should not exceed 0.25 mSv."
