The virtual teaching and research center of foreign languages in the context of new Engineering is a new fundamental educational institution.Exploring the development of virtual teaching and research center of foreign languages under the background of new engineering is helpful to improve the quality of foreign languages teaching and research in engineering universities,and better adapt to the new requirements of foreign languages teaching in the information age and high-quality development of higher education.The development of virtual teaching and research center of foreign languages in some local application-oriented undergraduate colleges and universities of the G16 Alliance is based on the basic principles of moral cultivation,resource collaboration and sharing,diversified development and"intelligent+"technology empowerment.This paper proposes an innovative teaching and research form of foreign languages school-based courses that adapts to the training of new engineering talents,collaborates to build a training mode of"foreign language+applied engineering talents",co-develops and shares foreign languages school-based courses,establishes theconstruction connotation of teacher development and growth plan,and proposes the construction mechanism,operation mode and evaluation criteria of"3+2+1"virtual teaching and research center of foreign languages based on TCSCOG operating mode.The practice has proved that the virtual teaching and research center for foreign languages oriented to G16 Alliance has a good operation effect and can provide valuable enlightenment for the development of virtual teaching and research center of foreign languages oriented to engineering majors.
