Design of multi-band tunable antennas based on reconfigurable filter
In order to realize the switching between the wideband and narrowband states of the antenna,a reconfigurable filtering antenna for UWB,WLAN and WiMAX band based on the integrated filtering antenna design method is proposed. The structure consists of a monopole UWB antenna and a reconfigurable 3-port filtering network,in which the reconfigurable filtering network is comprised of a folded open-loop resonant bandpass filter,an interdigital SIR band-pass filter, three PIN diodes and DC bias networks.By controlling the on-off state of the PIN diodes in the reconfigurable filter network, different RF transmission paths can be selected to realize the switching between UWB,WLAN and WiMAX band.In addition, different states of the reconfigurable filtering antenna were simulated and tested, the results show that three operating modes of the antenna are realized by controlling the on-off and on-off states of the three diodes D1,D2 and D3.When D1 is on,the antenna works in ultra-wideband mode, the working frequency band is 2.78~9.55 GHz,and the radiation efficiency can reach 86.5%.When D2 is on,the antenna works in WLAN narrowband mode of 2.35~2.53 GHz,and the radiation efficiency can reach 81.1%.When D3 is on,the antenna works in the WiMAX narrowband state of 3.22~4.33 GHz,and the radiation efficiency can reach 78.1%,this structure can be well applied to multi-frequency wireless communication systems.
