A method for the determination of 16 aldehydes and ketones in ambient air by solution absorption-high performance liquid chromatography was developed.The chromatography was performed on SymetryShield RP18 column(4.6 mm×250 mm×5.0 μm)with acetonitrile-water binary gradient elution as mobile phase and UV detector.The results showed that 16 aldehydes and ketones had a good linear relationship in the concentration range of 0～4.0 mg/L,the correlation coefficients were ≥0.999,the detection limit was 0.001～0.002 mg/m3,and the relative standard deviation RSD of precision was 1.8％～6.4％.The recovery rate of blank sample was 83％to 102％,and the actual ambient air samples were measured by this method,which met the requirements of the method.The results confirm that the laboratory has the ability to determine 16 kinds of aldehydes and ketones in the ambient air.
