Study on the Permeability Characteristics of Alluvial Silt in the Yellow River
The alluvial silt of the Yellow River is widely distributed and has poor engineering properties. In order to study the permeability characteristics of the Yellow River alluvial silt in Zhengzhou area, based on the analysis of the basic physical properties and particle composition of the Yellow River alluvial silt, the permeability coefficients of the silt with different compacted degrees were experimentally studied, and the ap-plicability of the commonly used empirical formula for predicting the permeability coefficients of the Yellow River alluvial silt was verified. The results show that the silt particles of the Yellow River alluvial soil in Zhengzhou area are mainly composed of silt particles, and the permeability coefficient decreases with the in-crease of compaction degree, and has a negative exponential relationship with the compaction degree. In addi-tion,the modified kozeny-carman formula is more suitable for predicting the permeability coefficient of the compacted Yellow River alluvial silt.
