Discussion on the Design Concept of Automatic Capping Device for Steel Drums in Packaging Containers for Low and Medium Level Radioactive Solid Waste in Nuclear Power Plants
The automatic capping device is an essential set of automated equipment for nuclear power plants or nuclear waste solidification and treatment production lines, mainly used for capping the steel drums of low and medium level radioactive solid waste packaging containers.Among them, the positioning of steel drums,bolt/screw hole positioning, and lid grabbing function are its three important functions. This article takes three automatic cover removal and sealing devices with different design modes in three operational nu-clear power plant projects in a coastal city of China as examples to explore the mechanical and electrical control structures that achieve their three functions and the existing design problems.Based on the above comparative analysis, this article proposes a new design concept for the positioning of steel drums,bolt/screw hole positioning, and lid grabbing function, which has practical significance for optimizing and improving the automatic lid grabbing and sealing device in the future.
