Investigation on Mechanical Properties of Reinforced Simply Supported Beam Bridges in Service
Due to the influence of environment and load, some early constructed simply supported beam bridges have certain safety hazards and need to be reinforced to meet modern transportation needs. This article takes the Heshang Bridge in Jinghu District as the engineering background to study the mechanical properties of the existing simply supported beam bridge after reinforcement.Firstly, based on the latest detection results of the bridge,a numerical model of a simply supported beam bridge was established using the finite element software MIDAS CIVIL.Then, the bending and shear resistance of the reinforced main beam, were analyzed using the established model.Research has shown that the main beam structure of the reinforced simply supported beam bridge in service can meet the design requirements and is in a safe state. This investigation can provide reference for the load-bearing analysis of similar bridges after reinforcement.
