Analysis of the Impact of Weather and Built Environment on the Number of Shared Bicycle Transfers
As a new low-carbon travel method, shared bicycles have become one of the important ways for urban residents to transfer to the subway. However, shared bike trips may be affected by weather condi-tions,time factors, and land use characteristics. This study uses the shared bicycle trip data set from Capital bikeshare to analyze the impact of meteorological, temporal and spatial factors on the use of the shared bicy-cle system in the District of Columbia,USA.Results indicate that rainfall, high humidity, and high tempera-tures may reduce the use of bike-sharing systems. The building density and the number of schools and other areas in the city center have a significant positive impact on the flow of shared bicycles.
