Exploration of Bamboo Model Aircraft Technology Under the"Dual Carbon"Goals
The goals of"Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality"are significant strategic decisions made by China, based on the responsibility to promote the construction of a community with a shared future for hu-manity and the intrinsic requirement for sustainable development. In order to achieve these"Dual Carbon"goals, concrete measures are needed from various levels, including national, societal, and individual, each con-tributing in their capacity, from small-scale actions to larger initiatives. As university students,"aviation educa-tion"("hangyu")team of School of Civilaviation of Northwestern Polytechnical University(NWPU),independently researched and developed a new environmentally friendly model airplane under the leadership of Ms.Tian Wei by combining the school's"sanhang"characteristics(aeronautics, astronautics, and marine technology engi-neering)and the professional skills of students. The team took the materials from Rongshui, the"Hometown of Bamboo"in Guangxi, which is the paired assistance area of Northwestern Polytechnical University.Utilizing the abundant local resources of moso bamboo, they examined the mechanical properties of bamboo materials in various directions and, aiming at the limitations of traditional model aircraft, they created a more environmen-tally friendly and cost-effective model airplane.Under the Rural Revitalization Strategy, they made their own contribution to the"dual carbon"goals.
