Failure Analysis of Spherical Roller Bearing Used in Sector Section of Continuous Caster
In this paper, optical microscope, scanning electron microscope and hardness tester were used to analyze the failure of the spherical roller bearing of the segment of the continuous casting machine to explore the cause of its failure. The results show that there is a certain partial load when the bearing is installed. With the continuous operation of the bearing, the partial load will squeeze the roller of the bearing more and more seriously. In addition, more severe wear will occur in the heavy load environment, which will heat up the inner ring of the bearing, and eventually lead to serious extrusion deformation of the bearing roller and decrease of the hardness of the inner ring. The hardness of the inner ring of the self-aligning roller bearing decreases most seriously, and the existence of a large number of pearlite is the key reason for its hardness reduction.
