Variation Characteristics of Saltwater Intrusion in the Yangtze Estuary under Dry Water Conditions
Saltwater intrusion often occurs in estuarine areas during the dry season, which has a serious impact on local water intake.Based on the analysis of the measured salinity and tide level data of six stations from September to November in 2022 and Datong station historical flow data,it is found that the occurrence of saltwater intrusion is closely related to the size of runoff, and the flow low water caused by summer drought is the main factor causing the early occurrence of saltwater intrusion. The salinity value was inversely proportional to the runoff and positively proportional to the tidal range. The salinity has the characteristics of semilunar cycle and diurnal variation due to tidal variation.
