Experimental Study on the Wavelength Difference of Sodium's Double Spectral Lines Based on Improved Michelson Interferometer
During the teaching and research experiment of Michelson interferometer,it is found that the gear often slips away which has serious implications on experimental measurements. In this paper,we improve the traditional gear occluding Michelson interferometer to leverage Michelson interferometer, avoiding the easy tripping between multiple gears in the geared Michelson interferometer.A lever-type Michelson interferometer was irradiated by a sodium light lamp. The obvious light beat interference pattern was observed and the wavelength difference of sodium's double spectral lines was measured. The wavelength difference of sodium's double spectral lines is 0.5953±0.0054(nm).The research in this paper is helpful to improve the measurement stability of Michelson interferometer and realize long-term stable use in spectral calibration, optical sensing, and biochemical detections. It will help improve students'ability to find and solve problems, and help students improve their ability to combine knowledge of different subjects.
