This paper presents an improved method for extracting the central axis of tunnels based on the convex hull algorithm and polynomial fitting.Through precise segmentation of point cloud data, convex hull calculation, cylinder fitting, cubic B-spline interpolation, and polynomial curve fitting, this method accurately captures the tunnel's posture and extracts its central axis, providing a solid foundation for its deformation assessment. The results demonstrate that the algorithm performs well on both simulated and measured data, delivering a central axis with high precision and smoothness.Additionally, the algorithm exhibits strong robustness and efficiency, providing valuable support for tunnel safety monitoring and subsequent design and construction.
