Improvement Study on the Failure of Flap Bearings in a Certain Type of Aircraft
A certain type of aircraft experienced flap jamming and unsynchronization during flight. After repeated observation and disassembly of the flap suspension system,it was found that the flap jamming and unsynchronization were caused by the inflexible rotation of the bearings on both sides of the suspension system.Afterwards, further failure analysis was conducted on the flap bearings, and it was found that the problem was caused by severe corrosion of the flap bearings under the self catalytic acidification of chloride ions.Based on this analysis conclusion,an improvement plan for the double-sided sealing of the flap bearings was proposed.
