This paper is an effort to investigate the influence of foam metal on inhibiting gas explosion in different types of roadways.By using FLUENT software,the study simulates the propagation process of foam metal inhibiting gas explosion in T-shaped and cross shaped roadways,and studies the effect of in-hibiting gas explosion.The results show that in T-shaped roadways,the attenuation rate range of the foam metal inhibiting shock wave overpressure is 28.57%-35.41%,and the attenuation rate range of inhibi-ting flame propagation speed is 22.46%-25.61%.In cross tunnel,the attenuation rate range of foam metal inhibiting shock wave overpressure is 14.15%-17.88%,and the attenuation rate range of flame propagation speed is 5.90%-12.29%.Foam metal has better effect on restraining gas explosion in T-shaped roadway.
