This paper aims to prevent the damage caused by friction between parallel steel strand stay cables and cable guide pipes for achieving the bridge design goals. The study,by taking Heda Express-way Jiamusi Songhua River Bridge as the engineering background, involves analyzing the influence factors of the cumulative rotation of the main girder segments and cable tension during construction on the correc-tion angle of the cable guide pipes, determining the correction values of the correction angle of the cable guide pipes by using an iterative method based on catenary equation, and reducing the friction damage to the cable duct. The results show that the length and cross-sectional area of the stay cables are the key fac-tors influencing the correction angle, and the cross-sectional area having a significant impact, with no correlation with cable tension. The stay cables are in good condition upon bridge completion, confirming the accuracy and reliability of the angle correction method, improving the engineering quantity.
