This paper aims to improve the corrosion resistance of diamond/aluminum composite. The study involves preparing Ni-P coating on the surface of diamond/aluminum composite by chemical plat-ing,analyzing and testing the coating in terms of surface morphology, coating thickness, phase composi-tion,corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity by XRD,SEM,EDS.The results show that there are big differences in activities on the surfaces of aluminum matrix and diallmond.Nickel grows almost exclu-sively on the aluminum matrix. With the prolongation of plating time, nickel accumulates and grows a-round the diamond until the diamond surface is completely covered. The aluminum matrix and diamond surface are covered with bright, dense and continuous coating by plating, and with the phosphorus con-tent of 9.36%,which belongs to high phosphorus coating and good corrosion resistance. After nickel plated, the thermal conductivity of the composite decreases by 6.7%.
