Studies on temperature, salinity,pH and dissolved oxygen tolerance of On-corhynchus keta smolts
The survival status of salmon(Oncorhynchus keta)was studied in terms of temperature, salinity,pH and dissolved oxygen tolerance.Juvenile salmon were provided by the Fisheries Research Institute of Dandong City.Healthy and symmetrical salmon(body length:(8.84±0.50)cm,body weight:(5.2±0.50)g)acclimated for 2 weeks were selected for the experiment. Results showed that critical value of salmon tolerance to high temperature was 21℃.Meanwhile,higher temperature increased oxygen consumption and decreased hypoxia tolerance of salm-on.The tolerance range of abrupt salinity change was 0-35‰,and gradual salinity change could reach 40‰.Effects of abrupt and gradual changes of pH on salmon were not significant(P>0.05),the range of adaptation was 4.5-10.These results will provide reference for the cultivation and transportation of salmon.
