Effects of different levels of Chlorella vulgaris on the immune function of Ctenopharyngodon idellus
In order to study the effects of different levels of Chlorella vulgaris on the organismal non-specific im-mune function of grass carp(Ctenopharyngodon idella),and to determine the optimal level of addition of Chlorella vulgaris in improving the organismal immune function of grass carp.In the experiment,400 healthy and disease-free grass carp weighing about 20g were selected and divided into 4 treatment groups with 4 replicates each and 25 fish in each replicate according to the one-way experimental design. Each group was fed with 0%(control),0.5%,1.0%and 1.5%chlorella vulgaris. After 60 d of feeding, the non-specific immunity indexes of the body of grass carp in each group were detected. The test results showed that compared with the control group, alkaline phosphatase(ALP or AKP)activity in the serum of grass carp in the test 2 and test 3 groups was significantly in-creased(P<0.05),lysozyme(LZ)activity was significantly increased(P<0.05),total antioxidant capacity was significantly increased(P<0.05);and superoxide dismutase activity was significantly increased(P<0.05);and the effect of Chlorella on the serum of grass carp was significantly increased(P<0.05).The acid phosphatase and catalase activities in grass carp serum were not significantly affected(P>0.05).The results of this study indicated that the addition of 1.0%and 1.5%chlorella vulgaris could significantly enhance the non-specific immunity of grass carp in aquaculture production.
