Effects of salinity andfood density on the water filtration rate of Meretrix mere-trix
order to understand the filtration characteristic of Meretrix meretrix under different conditions,The effects of seawater salinity(16,20,24,28,and 32 ppt)and diet concentration(5×104、10×104、15×104、20×104、25×104 cell/mL)on the filtration rate of Meretrix meretrix were studied by adopting the ecology experimental methods. The results indicated that in the range of salinity 16~32,the filtration rate increased at first and reached the highest at salinity 28,which was(0.5011±0.0694)L/(g·h).and significantly higher than at salinity of 16,20 and 32(P<0.05),without significant difference between 24 and 28(P>0.05).The relationship between filtration rate and salinity was expressed as following:y=-0.0487x2+0.2989x-0.0058(R2=0.6291).The filtration rate reached the maximum filtration rate appeared at 10×104cell/ml,which was(0.7986±0.0592)L/(g·h).The di-et concentration of 10~15×104cell/mL was significantly higher than that of the other groups(P<0.05).ANOVA showed that salinity and food density significantly influenced on the filtration rate of Meretrix meretrix.
