Under strong condemnation and protest from the international community,the Japanese government and Tokyo Electric Power Company insistently carried out their plan to discharge nuclear wastewater into the ocean.And they completed its annual nuclear wastewater discharge plan on November 20th,2023,local time,blatantly transferring the pollution risk to the entire world.As one of China's important coastal cities,Dalian,on its journey to build a Global Marine Center City,will face significant challenges posed by the release of nuclear wastewater,potentially threatening local public health,marine ecology,and the fishing economy,among other areas.To effec-tively respond to the negative impacts brought by nuclear wastewater and accelerate the process of becoming a Glob-al Marine Center City,Dalian City must take a series of strategic measures.
