Exploration and practice of progressive bilingual teaching model of microbiol-ogy driven by written bilingualism
Microbiology,as an important basic compulsory course in the specialized field of life science disciplines,is one of the core units to cultivate innovative talents suitable for the current rapid development of bio-economy,it-erative upgrading of bio-manufacturing,and high-quality development of bio-neo-mass productivity.The develop-ment of globalization and the increase of cross-cultural communication have greatly increased the necessity of intro-ducing bilingual teaching in microbiology courses.Unlike oral bilingualism,written bilingualism is basically re-quired by all industries and the application opportunities are much greater.Therefore,from the reality of our coun-try,this paper follows the principle of adopting original foreign language teaching materials,and establishes a"five-in-one"progressive bilingual teaching mode of microbiology that integrates the teaching concept,teaching objec-tives,original English teaching materials,diversified synergistic progressive teaching methods and formative assess-ment and evaluation system.This model has been initially practiced in some undergraduate majors and master's de-gree programs of Heilongjiang Bayi Agricultural and Reclamation University,and good results have been achieved.The progressive bilingual teaching mode of microbiology driven by written bilingualism weakens spoken language and makes bilingual teaching more suitable for the current situation of Chinese English level.
