Comparative study of departure operation performance based on data-driven
In order to achieve quality development in the civil aviation industry, scientific and objective operational performance evaluation was critically essential. As one of the major traffic flows in the terminal airspace, departure flights took on the responsibility of connecting the ground and the air operations, which was a vital area for operational performance improvement.Based on aircraft trajectory data that objectively record the historical situation, this paper designed the data collection, parsing, complementary, and key information extraction method.Proposed three kinds of performance indicators for departure operations:capacity, interval, and efficiency.Conducted a case study at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport,Shenzhen Bao'an Airport, and London Heathrow Airport with kernel density estimation and track clustering algorithms, enabling comparative analysis between different airports'departure operations. In conclusion, the results of the analysis not only filled a gap in the field of departure performance evaluation but also enabled the identification of departure control characteristics in different regions.
