The importance of basic research in the development of high-end lubricating materials
Basic research plays a crucial role in the development of high-end lubricating materials,which affect the performance and service life of mechanical equipment in modern industry.The research and development of high-end lubricating materials requires intensive basic research support to address the performance challenges of lubricating materials under extreme conditions.Basic research can reveal the microstructure and properties of materials and provide guidance for the design and synthesis of new materials.In addition,basic research can also explore new lubrication mechanisms and technologies to improve the performance and stability of lubricating materials.This paper took the Class Ⅳ base oil polyalpha-olefin(PAO)and Class Ⅴ base oil(alkyl naphthalene)as examples to analyze the importance of basic research for high-end lubricating materials and prospectedthe future of China's high-end lubrication industry.
