Economic analysis of hydrogen production from coal, natural gas and green electricity
Hydrogen is the lightest element used by human beings. As an energy carrier, hydrogen is called the clean energy of the future. At present, hydrogen made from fossil energy coal and natural gas is gray hydrogen.Blue hydrogen can be obtained by combining gray hydrogen with CCUS technology.Green hydrogen is obtained by direct electrolysis of water from the electric energy transformed by green electricity(photoelectric and wind power),and the most representative is green electricity electrolysis of water to produce hydrogen. This paper mainly analyzes the resource consumption and economy of the mainstream hydrogen production technology from coal, natural gas and green electricity. With the introduction of carbon tax,the cost of green hydrogen will be much lower than that of blue hydrogen and gray hydrogen. In the future, green hydrogen will be the most commercially competitive in the hydrogen energy market and will receive more and more attention.
