Trial study of high selective steric hindrance amine desulfurizer
MDEA solvent with poor selectivity was used as the desulfurizing solvent in the solvent recycling plant of a petrochemical company which absorbed H2S and a large amount of CO2,led to the CO2 concentration in the solvent recycling acid gas up to 70%that resulted in some production problems to downstream sulfur recovery plant. Therefore, referred to the similar plants, the company finally decided to use a steric amine solvent to improve the selectivity of the amine solution of the solvent regeneration plant, reduced the absorption rate of CO2 of the amine solution in the desulfurization process, thereby reducing the acidic gas volume of the regeneration, increasing the proportion of H2S in the acidic gas,and ensuring the stable operation of the sulfur plant.Through the test, the CO2 slippage rate of the solvent increased by more than 20%after the addition of steric amine, which improved the solvent quality in the solvent regenerator system.
