Analysis structure and biodiveristy of two species of Gentiana communities in the south of primorsky Rrai(province)of Russia
The structure of Gentiana scabra and G.triflora communities was studied in the south of Primorsky krai(Maritime Province)of Russia.Using DCA(detrended correspondence analysis)ordination,we revealed the distribution, structure and species diversity of gentians communities in relation to environmental gradient. The results showed that, with better habitat water condition, the dominance of gentian in communities increased markedly, and the community maximum height also increased(which suggests higher productivity). With increasing habitat water availability and productivity, community species richness decreased significantly due to the exclusive competition from gentians and other dominant species.Meanwhile, the dominant gentian species also changed from G.scabra to G.triflora,i.e.G.scabra colonized xerophytic and mesophytic environments and performed better in mesophytic ones, while G.triflora preferred more hydrophytic habitats.
