Preparation of porous carbon derived from stover for electrochemical adsorption of copper ions in water
The purification technology of heavy metal ions is receiving unprecedented attention due to the pollution of the water environment and the danger to human health.Capacitive deionization,as an emerging water treatment method,is a fast and simple method to effectively remove heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions. In this paper, corn stover porous carbon(CSPC)materials were prepared by one-step high temperature carbonization method using corn stover as carbon source and KOH as activator. The surface of the prepared CSPC material exhibited rich pore structure and large specific surface area. These properties resulted in the prepared CSPC materials with good capacitive deionization performance.By optimization of the reaction conditions, the electrode material could reach 6.17 mg·g-1 for copper ion electrode adsorption under the optimal operating conditions with very good cyclic stability.
