Development of wearable braille recognition device
A wearable braille recognition device based on a flexible pressure sensor array has been designed to facilitate information exchange for visually impaired individuals and the blind. The device comprises a flexible 4x4 pressure sensor array,a data acquisition module, upper computer software,a voice reporting module, and a power supply. The pressure sensors in the device are made using two-dimensional nanomaterial graphene ink through precision printing, enabling accurate perception of pressure signals. The signal acquisition module, based on the STM32flO3c8t6 microcontroller chip and reliable circuit design, accomplishes the collection, conversion, and calculation of pressure signals from 16 sensing points. The upper computer software receives data transmitted via Bluetooth, providing real-time displays of pressure values and pressure distribution mapping.Simultaneously, the voice reporting module recognizes braille information from the pressure distribution mapping of the sensing points and conveys the results through voice reporting. The device is capable of effectively recognizing English letters and simple words.
